House Of Cards

House Of Cards Project for

Visual Communication Design II

Northern Kentucky University 2017

- 12 Card Deck

This Project is based off of the Eames' House of Cards. The cards are a visual interpretation of the poem “Never Trust a Mirror”. The message of the poem is that meaning cannot be found in your physical appearance. I took this idea and dissected it into two ideas, the truth and the lie. Truth cards consisting of a very honest approach and the lie being distorted. For the truth I used simple imagery and simple type treatments while the lie utilized techniques like scanner manipulation (shifting & moving images while being scanned) to play with the subjects facial features. Included are also 4 vinyl mirror cards that are screen printed to distort and fracture the clarity of the mirror.
